Los Angeles Kings(Preseason 3-0-3) @ Phoenix Coyotes(Preseason 1-5-1)
VS
Tonight the Phoenix Coyotes will take on the Los Angeles Kings in their final preseason game before the season opener on October 11th. The Kings have yet to lose in regulation in this preseason while the Coyotes look to come out in top form as after this, all their games will count. No statements have been made concerning starters for this game as far as who will be in net, but I would guess that Bryz would be in net as this is his last chance to get into regular season form before the Ws and Ls really matter.
For Phoenix, they have almost cut their rosters down to size. Of the players left there should be one forward and one defenseman still to be cut as Joel Perrault will start the season on IR, still feeling the effects of a pre-camp concussion. My guesses for Coyotes on the bubble are Yandle, Jones and maybe Hale on defense because they have quite simply been out played by Jonas Anhelov. As far as forwards go, Garth Murray is the most likely to be sent down though Porter could be out as well, not because of anything he’s done, but because he may just be the odd man out. Fans have also been calling out Brian McGratton because of his sluggish play in the Preseason as well as little of his promised enforcement. I would be surprised to see him sent off, but in this camp everyone is playing for their spot.
Here are the Starting rosters for tonight’s game…

Notes from Onyx:
Let us not forget that trouble will be brewing between the teams as we get another crack at the little trouble maker named Wayne Simmonds and ultimate pest Brian Boyle. There is history from last season w/ Boyle before he was sent to the Monarchs and Wayner started more than a lil trouble during the rookie games this year.
I am torn over the whole ‘bubble’ issue, I hope Garth manages to hang on but I really like the solid, dependable play of Porter too. Jlov has certainly won my respect and support to remain on the team but I somehow doubt after all the hype over Keith Yandle by the staff that he’ll be sent down. Yandle has had a really good camp and hasn’t made any more mistakes than he usually does (which… meh.. offense is fine but not at the expense of the humongo turnovers he flubs in front of his goalies) so you know which way I’m voting on that ‘bubble’.
We can’t afford to let the team that we owned all of 07 get any confidence. We are going to need every point we can scrabble for in 08 and if the Kings can be held down again, so much the better for our record.
